To be able to answer this question, I first had to learn what aProfessional Learning Networkis. I read articles, and watched videos to learn more about Professional Learning Networks. A Professional Learning Network, or PLN, is the people with whom you are connected with in your profession. I then determined that I have quite an extensive personal PLN while creating a map. I have worked in four different schools, which were in three different districts in two different states. This is very beneficial for me when I need advice or have questions, because I can fall back on these contacts. I also use Facebook, Pinterest, and TPT frequently. However, Twitter is an area of weakness as I haven’t used it until this week when I joined a fast chat. I feel that the chat feature is something I should use more frequently. I attend Michigan State University for my undergrad and am now pursuing a Masters of Arts in Educational Technology also at MSU which expands my PLN to colleagues from around the world. I feel I am fairly diversified but if I wanted to expand my PLN, I could tap into the Twitter chat world and if only I had an unlimited amount of time, there is a lot more I could explore.
